Originally built in 1924, the building behind Events at Haven stood for decades as a symbol of Birmingham’s industrial grit—until a bold restoration turned it into a stunning space where history and modern elegance meet.
“When we found the building in 2013, it was bigger than we needed—but we fell in love with it,” says owner Troy Wallwork. “Once a motorcycle shop, it had incredible bones. During renovations, someone touring said, ‘I’d love to get married here!’ That moment sparked Events at Haven.”
Thoughtful restoration followed, preserving original steel trusses, exposing tall industrial windows, and uncovering century-old natural wood ceilings hidden under layers of lead paint. The result? A venue that’s rich with character, yet effortlessly elevated.

From The Fennec to WorkPlay, he’s built it all,” says the team. “He makes sure everything runs seamlessly.”
